Living and Loving was a radio learning program for PLHA and their caregivers produced under the HCP-Z project in 2005.
The program reaches out to people living with HIV and caregivers through more than 100 radio listening groups. Living and Loving reaches persons living with HIV with information on how to live a positive lifestyle, and reaches caregivers with information that will equip them to care for people who are chronically ill due to AIDS. The 26 episodes cover topics including: Knowing Your Status, Positive Living, How to Care for Someone Taking ARVs, Dealing with Stigma and Family Support, among many others. Living and Loving was aired on the Zambia National Broadcasting Corporation (channels 1 and 2) and local radio stations with programs in English, Lozi, Kaonde and Tonga, and later Bemba and Nyanja.
The Design Document does not have the title of the program as it was developed later, but was used to develop the actual program as well as the scripts and reality segments. Living and Loving was not formally evaluated but there were many success stories in the communities of listeners taking action.
